Dear LHS Alumni:
It is with many regrets and sadness that the 2020 Loomis Alumni Banquet is canceled for June 20th of 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, committee members of the Class of 1970, who would be hosts, made a decision to not put anyone at a health risk or continue with plans for the banquet. Several texts, calls, and communications were involved in the cancellation process.
The auction that provides funds for the Loomis Alumni scholarship fund will not take place. All donations, in lieu of items, would be appreciated and will be given to this fund. A suggestion to add to this fund would be to donate the cost of the number of tickets at $20.00 each that you would purchase to attend the banquet or a personal monetary donation to the Loomis Alumni. Please consider doing this so these awards could be given to three 2020 Loomis High School seniors and a graduate of Loomis attending college. Donations for the Alumni fund can be made out to Loomis Alumni and mailed to: Loomis Alumni Fund, First State Bank, P.O. Box 230 Loomis, Ne. 68958. To donate to the scholarship fund please send to the same address and designate on check or letter.
The Class of 1970 was looking forward to seeing everyone, but circumstances beyond our control and for the health safety of all attending was the deciding factor. We look forward to 2021.
